Do you have to be a public health major to join S4PH?
All majors are welcome and encouraged to join! Anyone who is interested in public health would enjoy being apart of S4PH.
What are the expectations of members?
To be considered an active member, you must pay your dues and obtain 10 points throughout the semester (2 of which are fundraising points). You can receive up to 3 points for meetings and we will provide many new point opportunities each GBM! Active members will also need 2 education points, 2 community service points, and 1 social point.
Where is the zoom meeting link and where can I check my active member status?
The zoom link for virtual general body meetings is Bit.ly/S4PHgbm and the same one is used every meeting. This link as well as all important links such as the point spreadsheet can be accessed through our Beacons.
How much are dues and where do I pay it?
Dues for returning members are $10 and dues for new member are $15. You can make the payment on Venmo @S4PHTreasurer.
Are active senior members awarded anything for graduation?
Seniors will get a cord if they are active for the fall semester of their senior year PLUS one other semester. The colors will be decided in the spring semester and the information will be released in advance. Also, we will be rewarding an additional cord to a few of our most active seniors!
What should I do if I have a class conflict during the meeting times?
If you have a time conflict during any of our meetings please fill out this form and you will be added to a GroupMe that has access to watch the recordings. To get a point for that meeting, take a photo of you watching the recording and submit it to the Fall 2022 Point Submission Form in our Beacons!
Where does the fundraising money go?
For each fundraiser, all the proceeds go towards whoever we are raising money for. Only dues and in-person fundraisers specifically for our organization will go towards supporting S4PH.
Will there be events that that don't require members to pay?
Yes! This year we are planning to focus more on community service events, volunteer opportunities, social events, and we will also have non-monetary fundraisers like donation drives.
Does S4PH "restart" every semester or every year?
S4PH starts points over each semester, so there are both Fall and Spring active members.
Will there be more socials?
Yes, we typically have several socials throughout the semester! Check our Instagram or meeting slides to stay updated!
Is it too late to join?
Depends! Let us know you're interested and we can see if it's still possible to become an active member for the semester!
